We take various factors into account when determining our rates, including the size of the vehicle, the distance of transportation, the condition of the vehicle, the time of year when transportation is needed, and the market price for the specific route requested. To obtain a more accurate estimate of the costs, you can complete a quote form on our homepage.
We advise you to book your move promptly to make sure that your car is transported within the period which works best for you. Generally, it takes us between one and five days for us to assign a truck for pick-up once the vehicle is ready. If the automobile is ready immediately, we can arrange for it to be picked up as soon as possible. We strongly suggest that orders are placed approximately five days before the available date so as to help scheduling. Although booking in advance can be beneficial, it’s not always necessary.
To make a reservation, you need to give us the exact pick up and delivery address as well as the names and phone numbers of everyone involved in the pick up and delivery. There is no cost for booking, however after the spot on the trailer is secured, a deposit must be paid. The balance should be paid on either pick up or delivery with cash, a cashier’s check or money order to be paid directly to the driver.
The quote includes door-to-door service, full bumper-to-bumper insurance, payment of all taxes and tolls, and free transportation of personal belongings up to 100 lbs.
The cost of auto transport is impacted by several variables, such as route distance, the state of the car (working or non-functioning), what type of trailer would be utilized (open or enclosed), and the time of year. For instance, if you are looking to ship your vehicle to Florida in autumn, it will likely cost more due to a high influx of people travelling south for winter.
We give you various payment options. Typically, credit or debit cards are used to pay for our services. A partial fee of 10-20% of the total bill is charged when a carrier is found for you. The rest must be paid once your car has been picked up. We accept all major credit cards and PayPal as payment methods. Alternatively, you can also pay the remaining balance (carrier pay) upon delivery so that you don’t have to worry about it later on.
If you owe money on delivery, make sure to bring cash, a cashier’s check, or a money order; credit cards and personal checks are not accepted by drivers.
The pick-up time of your vehicle will largely depend on where it is located. For example, if it’s in a big city, it should be collected on the designated day; however, inclement weather or other issues could cause delays. If the auto needs to be retrieved from a more rural location, you should expect it to take at least two days for pick-up.
Once your dates have been verified with your driver, you should expect the car to arrive as planned. However, there may be delays due to inclement weather, unexpected mechanical issues for the truck, or any other unforeseeable occurrences. Generally speaking, cross-country shipping usually takes 7-10 days while transporting a car between the north and south should take 5-7 days. Shorter distance trips of fewer than 500 miles are normally completed within two to three days from pick up.
Would you like information about our open trailer transport and enclosed transport services?
Door to door service means we will collect your vehicle from any address and deliver it to wherever you wish, provided that our 18-wheeler truck is able to access the destination. If not, arrangements can be made for the driver to meet you in a convenient location with a large parking space.
Under no circumstances will US Auto Movers deliver your vehicle on a different truck from the one it was loaded on. The only scenario where a different truck might be used is if the original truck breaks down during transport, and US Auto Movers arranges for a replacement to ensure timely delivery of your vehicle.
Typically, drivers will load your vehicle at a location they consider safe. Truck drivers must consider several factors when it comes to loading your vehicle, such as fitting all cars within the permissible length of the truck and adhering to federal laws to avoid overloading any of the axles.
The majority of cars are transported via an open auto transport, which is the most affordable option and offers $250.000 insurance coverage. This is usually $300-400 less than the cost of enclosed transport, which provides a higher insurance coverage and is mainly used for expensive vehicles such as super cars.
You can transport up to 100 lbs of personal belongings in your car for no extra cost, but they must be stored in the trunk or back compartment. If you want to take more than this, it will be an additional charge and must be placed in the front or back seat below window level. Nothing heavy can be carried on these seats and the driver’s seat must remain empty. Any items brought with you are not protected by insurance.
The Department Of Transportation forbids the carriage of any household items while in transit with a vehicle. Carrying such items inside a vehicle is at the owner’s own risk, and if the driver notices that your car is weighed down due to them, he may demand their removal or charge you additional fees. Truck drivers have no liability for any damages incurred from having these goods inside the vehicle.
We offer comprehensive bumper-to-bumper insurance coverage for your vehicle during transport. This means that your vehicle is insured for at least $100,000 for any type of damage during open trailer transport, and $250,000 for enclosed trailer transport, including scratches, total damage, theft, and fire. However, please note that your personal belongings inside the vehicle are not covered by this insurance policy. Your vehicle will be fully insured while it is on our trailer.
Your vehicle is protected with cargo insurance of $250K – $1 million during transit. However, it does not cover damages from Acts of God or road debris. If you would like further protection, we can arrange for your vehicle to be transported in an enclosed car carrier at an additional cost.
If you find any damage on the vehicle upon receiving it, make sure to record it on the bill of lading and let the driver sign it. Additionally, contact US Auto Movers to inform us about this new damage so that we can take steps to resolve the issue quickly.
We require that you provide bills of lading and three estimates from an authorized repair shop. We will then arbitrate with our carrier to settle the dispute.
Someone must be present for the pick up and delivery of your goods. You or an authorized representative can sign the Bill of Lading and witness our driver’s inspection. After the inspection is done and the Bill of Lading has been signed, you are free to go.
If you would like someone else to be present during the pick-up or delivery of your vehicle, it is important that they are aware of the inspection process and their role in it. They should understand that the person shipping needs to sign off on the bill of lading noting the condition of your car, and if another individual is receiving it upon delivery, they must carefully inspect for any damages and note them on this same document.
You only need to give the keys to the driver. No other documents such as your title or insurance are needed. All you have to do is sign off on the bill of lading that your vehicle has been picked up, and then it will be on its way.
We need the company name and address, VIN, Lot and Buyer’s number before your car is collected from the auction.
